Solution-Synthesized Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Achieves Practical Room-Temperature Ionic Conductivity

A research group including Ryota Kishi, Assistant Professor Kazuhiro Hikima, Professor Atsunori Matsuda, and Professor Hiroyuki Muto successfully synthesized Li10GeP2S12 by a solution process with practical room-temperature ionic conductivity.

 

The study also clarified solution-synthesis-specific electrochemical features, including small particle size, grain-boundary resistance, a solvent-derived surface layer, and improved stability against a Li-In negative electrode.
