IoT Power Supply Based on Magnetic-Field Energy Harvesting Co-Developed by Professor Takeshi Yoshimura Moves toward Mass Production

A mass-production system and plans to begin accepting orders in October 2026 have been announced for “Jiba Denki,” an IoT power supply based on technology co-developed by Professor Takeshi Yoshimura of Electrical and Electronic Information Engineering.

The device uses the magnetic field around an AC wire to vibrate a magnet and generate electricity through a piezoelectric element, without an electrical connection to the wire. It can power IoT equipment in enclosed electrical installations where light is unavailable.

The technology resulted from collaboration among Osaka Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology, Osaka Metropolitan University, and DAIHEN, and is being commercialized by Kachi Create.
